We know traditions change over time. That’s why Atlanta History Center is excited to offer two new elopement and small wedding packages for couples looking to tie the knot during this unprecedented moment in our history. We invite you to experience an intimate ceremony, tucked away under the sheltering Piedmont canopies of our lush Buckhead campus.
Of all the places to get married in Atlanta, none is as steeped in history as our 33-acre campus. We offer three unique wedding venues perfect for any couple. A pandemic shouldn’t spoil your special day—our outdoor spaces are an ideal backdrop for a socially distant ceremony. Whether you’re planning a micro-wedding, elopement, or intimate reception, we invite you to begin the next chapter of your story with us.

Swan House reinvents the meaning of a “small wedding at home.” You and your guests will be treated like family on the rolling front lawn of Atlanta History Center’s iconic Jazz Age mansion. Designed as a grand entertainment space by Philip Trammell Shutze for the Inman family (yes, that Inman family), Swan House’s rolling terraces are tailor-made for intimate ceremonies, receptions, and cocktail hours.
Shutze was a master of integrating lush gardens into the vast layout of any estate. This timeless space has hosted many guests during its century of celebrations—from film stars to royal families—and is waiting for you and yours.

Quarantine doesn’t mean you and your guests must miss out on a destination wedding. Plan an intimate outdoor ceremony in our enchanting boxwood garden just off Swan House’s sweeping breakfast porch. Also designed by Shutze, this classic space is inspired by the architect’s love of Italian villas. The intricate plantings, fountain, and ornate sculptures take their cues from the palazzos of the Mediterranean coast.

As if from the pages of a fairytale, fragrant flowers bloom year-round in Olguita’s Garden. Find yourself a world apart amongst hundreds of blooms, perennials, and seasonal plantings against a fragrant and evergreen tea olive hedge. The ornamental garden, adjoining terrace, and private lawn are inspired by the great gardens of Europe with intricate floral beds and a limestone water feature, with sheltering columns designed by legendary Atlanta architect Neel Reid. Olguita’s Garden makes for a unique space for an intimate ceremony and reception.
Guests can enjoy a cocktail hour on the terrace and enjoy stunning views of the native Georgia landscape in the adjacent Quarry Garden.
