Fulton County 4-H

Grow your local impact!

4-H stands for Head, Heart, Hands, and Health … and now History!

The Atlanta History Center is a 4-H headquarters. In partnership with Fulton County and UGA’s Cooperative Extension, Atlanta History Center established a 4-H and UGA Extension officefor the Buckhead community. Located in McElreath Hall, the office provides assistance in agriculture and environmental science, family and consumer science, and youth development to everyone in the local area.

Young people learn by doing, and in 4-H kids complete hands-on projects in health, science, agriculture, and citizenship, in an environment where they receive guidance from adult mentors. Encouraged to take active leadership roles, kids are involved in 4‑H through in-school and after-school programs, school and community clubs, and 4‑H camps.

Atlanta History Center’s own 4-H Community Club is a free youth program for children in grades 1 through 12. Open to all youth who live in or go to school in Fulton County, the club meets once a month for community service, learning, and fun.

Starting in the spring and summer of 2017, specialty clubs and camps are available for youth in the Atlanta area, including Georgia 4-H residential summer camps.

Georgia 4-H is the youth component of UGA Extension, which is part of the University of Georgia. It is directed by the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences and is provided as a public service by the office of Cooperative Extension.
